Poor sales for Yakuza 1 & 2 HD Wii U in Japan

yakuza 1 & 2 HD wii U

We got bad news guys, especially for you Wii U owners and/or Yakuza fans. In fact last week SEGA released its Yakuza 1 & 2 HD remake on the Wii U in Japan, and that’s good, but guess what…sells aren’t going as expected.

Maybe it’s more appropriate say that the first instalation of the Yakuza saga outside a Sony console is facing proper poor sales; the game didn’t even make in the top 50 chart of the week, selling barely 1800 copies. Yes, just 1800 copies, in Japan.

You already know where we are going to say, right? We can now only assume the worst for the series’ future in the West, starting with no hope for an outside-Japan release of this remake and moreover, not many chances to see Yakuza 5 localized. Why? Well, if the series doesn’t sell in Japan, how can it sell in USA and Europe?

the wonderful 101

Everybody knows how annoying and rude Hideki Kamiya could be on his personal Twitter, in most of the cases he’s just a bad-mannered guy, but still sometimes he says words full of wisdom.

He is currently working on The Wonderful 101 for Wii U, and a couple of days ago he tweeted (is that a verb?) this:

So, we can assume that Tw101 will be quite short, but (hopefully) really fun to play. We’ll se, we count on you Kamiya!

Printing Miiverse is an art show about the Nintendo’s Miiverse organized by Miiverse ART guys. It is absolutely non-profit and it will take place in Nuremberg, Germany in the Kunstbunker Gallery, starting on 4th of May.

This sounds amazing and the gallery will feature 172 Miiverse artists presenting incredible 13255 drawings! As the event is located in Germany (you know, Nintendo’s european HQ is in Frankfurt) you can also watch the Livestream and video-uploads in this channel, for a chance to chat with the visitors and comment on their drawings via Miiverse!

This is absolutely one of the highest manifestations where gaming meets art!

FEZ on the Wii U? Only if Nintendo pays for it

We all know how good is FEZ. It is a little indie masterpiece, even if its creator is not that nice.

The games has been released on Xbox LIVE last year (after almost five years of development) and it will hit Steam next May.

Obviously a lot of people is asking for a port on all kind of platforms, includind the last Nintendo console, the Wii U, that seems to be a perfect home for the 2D/3D indie platformer by Phil Fish’s Polytron. Yesterday our beloved Phil said something about a possible port of the game.

We seriously doubt too, but who knows…

Now you can use the Wii U Controller on PC games

5 Feb

We always love people making an improper use of licensed hardware, especially when it’s not about cracking or piracy, but just opening a new world of possibilities. And this is the case of this guy, Chris Manning, transforming the Wii U game pad into something you can use on a PC.

This video also shows how you can re-map the pad in order to make it works with lot of stuff on your PC, like DirectInput games and emulators (including Dolphin and most Steam games).

We know that you’re wondering about the touchscreen and all the cool stuff you’d like to do with it on your PC. Chris also said that a touchscreen support in on the work, and you’ll be able to use the pad as a graphical tablet or similar stuff very soon.

For now, you can download all the stuff you need to make it works here.

Keep it up Chris (and watch your back from Nintendo)
