Grand theft auto 5 16-bit snes GTAV

Well, Grand Theft Auto V sold like bazillion copies in the first 3 days (actually one billion, buy hey, that’s a lot) and that’s not a surprise, nor amusing. A thing really amusing is this badass 16-bit, SNES-like trailer of it.  Enjoy!

Note down the date, because this beauty is gonna be out on September 17…1993. Ah, only for SNES and MD

NES, SNES and N64 emulators available at Ouya’s launch

26 Mar

ouya amazon june

Different sources confirms that the upcoming Android-powered console Ouya will feature plenty of unauthorized Nintendo consoles’ emulators at launch. Indeed an N64 emulator has already been sanctioned and included in the official store, a NES emulator will be ready on the day of the release and a SNES is in the closing stages, developed by two emulator teams.

This could be a smart move for the launch, stated that Ouya still has no launch titles…but what about Nintendo? They’re gonna be very pissed! Brace yourselves Ouya guys…

Hyperkin to reveal new RetroN 4 system

6 Mar

RetroN 3 RetroN 4

Hyperkin is an American company specialized in video games accessories and peripherals. They handle the current generation, but they’re quite famous on the net for making and selling accessories and replacements for all the major retro consoles.

They also make new consoles capable to play retro games, like the SupaBoy or the RetroN. Yep, it’s not like playing your Contra III on the original SNES, but it could be an option for those who don’t own a retro system.

Anyway, yesterday Hyperkin revealed its “new” console system, the RetroN 4, that is simply a new model of the RetroN 3 (big picture above), but capable of play NES, SNES, Genesis (or Mega Drive) and GBA cartridges all in one and with an HDMI output. It sounds like  very ambitious piece of hardware, and we can’t wait to take a further look at the console.

In the meanwhile these are the specs from the press release:

RetroN 4 Points of Interest:
·         2 Original Controller Ports for Each Platform (6 Total)
·         Wireless Bluetooth Controller
·         4 Cartridge Ports for NES, SNES, Genesis and GBA cartridges
·         HDMI Output with Digital Signal Conversion
·         “Perdana” Digital User Interface
·         PAL and NTSC compatible

Hyperkin will be unveiling the RetroN 4, at this year’s Midwest Gaming Classic at the Sheraton Milwaukee Brookfield Hotel in Brookfield, Wisconsin, on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 11:00 AM CST. Stay tuned.

If Doctor Who was a 16-bit RPG for SNES

1 Mar

You may not be a great fan of Doctor Who series, but you know, we’re based in London, and Doctor Who is kind of a religion here in UK.

Said so, some guy at College Humor, called DoctorOctoroc, created a fan made video  in which you can admire how a 16-bit RPG for SNES based on BBC’s Doctor Who would be! Enjoy!
