attack on titan 3DS

It’s no more a secret that an Attack on Titan 3DS game is coming soon, at least for Japan. So today the mighty internet has finally managed to leak some in-game graphics from the upcoming game.

Yes, it looks shitty and quickly (and badly) made, but you know, those are just scans on a Japanese magazine…maybe the actual game is (getting) better. Let’s hope so.

Well, today Level-5 has announced a brand new Professor Layton game. Yes, even if Profesor Layton and the Azran Legacy should have been the last one.

So you’re now thinking that this is actually a good news. Well, it’s too early to know if you’re right or not, because the new Layton game presented today, called just Layton 7, is headed to iOS, Android and Nintendo 3DS, and it looks a lot different from all the previous titles in the series.

Here are the very first screenshots released by Famitsu today.

Anyway, it will be one of the first things we’ll find out about the new Xbox One, as Forza Motorsport 5 will be available at launch.

Bethesda released the first trailer for Shinji Mikami’s The Evil Within

19 Apr

The Evil Within

After some really cryptic vine posts (like this one, this one and this one) Bethesda has finally revealed its new project, and despite all the fans’ odds it won’t be Fallout 4, but The Evil Within.

No excitement? Wait, did we mention that the game will be directed by the father of the survival horror genre Shinji Mikami? Yep, the bloody creator of the original Resident Evil series! In fact, according to Bethesda, The Evil Within will be an old school survival horror! But let’s take a look at the announcement trailer.

The game is planned for a 2014 release on next generation consoles, but for now that’s all we got, apart from those screens below. Said so, it’s safe to say that we’re utterly excited about The Evil Within, especially for our god Shinji Mikami back to the survival horror genre!

First concept arts from the upcoming Grasshopper Manufacture’s game

Nop, now we’re not talking about Killer is Dead anymore. This is beyond that!

Do you remember the news about Grasshopper Manufacture being acquired by GungHo Online Entertainment? Good, this will their first project together!

Goichi Suda spoke to Weekly Famitsu about it, and here we go!

“The game will obviously have Grasshopper Manufacture’s signature forte of hack and slash action at its base, but we hope to incorporate GungHo’s power and know-how in areas we don’t have.”

We don’t really know much about the game, but both Suda51 and Kazuki Morishita (GungHo bossman) confirmed that the protagonist will be a female (thankfully they don’t give a fuck about publishers), that the game won’t be on smarthphones and/or tablets (thanks x2) and that the plot will be set in some asian environment. While the title, the release timing and the platforms remain unknown. Stay tuned!

TDP Preview | Sturmwind

12 Mar

sturmwind duranik dreamcast

Few weeks ago we received from Germany our press copy of Sturmwind! What is it? Easy, it is a brand new homebrew shooter game for the SEGA Dreamcast (obviously not an official release approved by SEGA) by Duranik.

Sturmwind is an old school shmup, a very traditional one indeed, where you don’t have to think a lot, just follow one simple rule: if it moves, shoot it!

Behind this little masterpiece there is Duranik, a German indie development team, known for its previous attempt to create a shooter game on a dead console: Native for the Atari Jaguar.
It is very likely that Sturmwind has born from that failure, trying to make a better game, more accessible even to modern players, but sticking to the great classics guide lines.
That’s why Duranik has chosen the Dreamcast, that despite its premature dead, it is more widely available and more powerful than any other cool retro-console (no, ps2 isn’t cool, nor powerful).

Sturmwind tries to take advantage of every bit of the Dreamcast hardware and supports a wide range of effects, indeed we can call it a perfect mix between 2D and 3D, leading to an astonishing visual impact.
We surely can’t hide out excitement playing a bran new game on our favourite console of all times, and it’s safe to say that Sturmwind could have been released on XBLA and PSN without any problem.

The game is pretty straightforward, you can play the normal mode with all 16 levels or the arcade mode with only 6 levels and no continues. In normal mode your progress will be saved with every finished level (obviously you’ll need a VMU to save your progress).

Speaking of pure gameplay, Sturmwind is very enjoyable (despite the CG intro with german voiceover or the unreadable german names of the weapons and levels) and once you start to play you’ll quickly understand every game dynamic, as the three weapon selection, the backfire and the point system. Duranik guys said that the game is designed for all Dreamcast fans, it is no hardcore maniac or score shooter. Even average players are able to see more than the first level. There is a good bit of memorization involved as with most of this type of games but that is part of the fun.

sturmwind duranik dreamcast

We said that Sturmwind is a game for everyone, so it’s not hardcore? Don’t worry, it is a highly addictive and a very challenging game; it could not be like a modern bullet hell game from Cave, but we prefer this way…even because on the Dreamcast we want to breathe a sort of old school flavour, and Sturmwind perfectly accomplish this job! (if you want to go crazy, just set the hard mode!)

And guess what? Sturmwind has also online leaderboards, but you won’t need to connect your dusty DC to the internet: in fact, your copy of the game will generate an unique code for your highest score, then you’ll just have to put that code with your nickname in this site…done! Online leaderboards!

So here’s some specs:

Can you beat Metal Gear Rising in just 5 hours?

12 Feb

metal gear rising finish time complete leaked

Yes, apparently you can. And please note the underline in CAN.

From a couple of days a Metal Gear Rising‘s screenshot (WTF?? The game is not even out in Japan!) goes through the net scaring people with its 05:34 clear time. Is a game so quick to beat worth to buy? For £35/£40 (or even more if you think with different currency) looks like a legit question and so Platinum Games executive director Atsushi Inaba replied to the rumors in his official twitter profile:

Clear enough folks?

Personally, not being a great fan of the classic Metal Gear franchise we’ll take it as a good news. As you all know Rising will be a spin off quite out of the line and the fact you have ranks at the end of chapters make us think is more an arcade based on ranks in perfect Platinum Games style as the awesome Vanquish or Bayonetta.

Yes, we are hyped and ready to cut and slash everything!
