9 Sep

sturmwind

Seems like Play-Asia has a re-stock of Sturmwind, in its beautiful Limited Deluxe Edition. We don’t know how or why, but they say that this unexpected re-stock is limited to just 100 copies. We know that the price is rather high, but given that it’s sold out everywhere in the world and this is gonna be pure gold for all the Dreamcast collectors in just a couple of years, maybe it worths it. Up to you. Here’s the link to buy it before it’s gone.

In case you missed it, here’s our (p)review of Sturmwind and below us playing the very first level in hard.

14 Aug

taiwan nintendo 3ds doraemon limited editionWe’re used to incredible super cool (and rare) limited edition consoles come from Japan, but sometimes things are different. This is the case of the above Limited Edition Doraemon Nintendo 3DS that is going to be “released” in Taiwan only.

Actually, is not even going to be released. In fact, Nintendo is localising the game Doraemon: Nobita’s Number Adventure in Taiwan, and to mark the game release, is also holding some sort of contest, in which the prizes are five of these wonderful handhelds.

So yes, this is going to be quite a rare console…prepare your wallets collectors.

The 3DS is getting a lot of attentions lately, not just for Nintendo games, but also for licensed titles. So be happy all you pirates wanna-be, because we got quite a lot of good news for you!

Starting from the already confirmed also for North America and Europe One Piece Romance Dawn, that should be available later this year. Here’s the trailer.

Then we got the just announced One Piece Unlimited World Red, covering the very last part of the anime/manga.

Unfortunately this second game is not yet confirmed for an outside-Japan release, but today Nintendo and Namco Banday have announced a super hot double 3DS LL (the name of the Japanese 3DS XL) limited edition for the game. Here the pictures.

Project X Zone demo available

6 Jun

project x zone

We’ve already told you how much we’re hyped and excited for Project X Zone, the latest mega collaboration among Capcom, Namco Bandai and SEGA.

Well, the epic crossover is already available in Japan since last year, and it will be released in US on June 25 and in Europe on July 5. So we still have few weeks to wait, but for now we can have just a taste of it. Indeed, yesterday Namco Bandai (the main publisher of the game) has released the demo for the game, called “A Lethal Surprise Demo” (or just Demo A).

Said so, if you’re curious on how those three companies have co-worked give it a try and download it for free from the Nintendo 3DS Store (but keep in mind that, like every demo for the 3DS, it has limited try).

By the way, thanks Namco Bandai for not bringing to Europe the limited edition…yep, thank you very much

Now enjoy some really chaotic screenshots.

Capy Fine Racing GP will be released at PAX East

22 Mar

capybara double fine pax

We already told you that at PAX game devs just go crazy, so here we are again! Capybara Games and Double Fine Production are sharing the same booth at this week’s PAX East, so they decided to release a special retail version of the same boundle you can buy on Steam. This special edition will be limited to only 200 copies and will be available only at their shared PAX booth.

The box will contain all the games from the Steam pack, plus a very cool gem: the two games studios teamed up to develop a racer, called Capy Fine Racing GP and featuring all the characters from both companies. But this isn’t all, indeed the racing game will be released on floppy disk…yep, you heard it right, old school 1.44 MB floppy disk!

Capy Fine Racing GP PAX

This is what Capy co-founder Nathan Vella has told to EDGE regarding the co-developed racing game:

“Ken Yeung and Vic Nguyen made a game called Capy Fine Racing GP, which is a little jokey – but still rad fun – OutRun-style racer staring Capy and Double Fine characters. The game will be released on the 3.5″ floppies that come inside the Capy and Double Fine limited edition boxed bundle, AKA the retail version of the Steam bundle that we just launched which includes both studios’ Steam games. We only made 200 boxes, and even then some of the floppies might not work, but the people who buy them will be allowed and encouraged to share the game.

It’s just something we did for pure fun and loving the idea of doing cool shit with our friends, in the spirit of the Capy Double Fine PAX combo. While it’s totally a real game, it’s also not at all a real game.”

If you are at PAX right now, you definitely should try to put your hands on one of those limited edition boxes! Good luck!
