30 Jul

J-Stars Victory VS

We already told you about the upcoming new crossover featuring the most iconic characters from the Shonen Jump universe, unfortunately we can still confirm that there’s no plan for a western release of J-Stars Victory VS so far. But at least we got a new trailer for all you otaku boys and gals out there…and hey, the game is for PlayStation 3 and Vita, so fuck yeah region-free!

Project X Zone demo available

6 Jun

project x zone

We’ve already told you how much we’re hyped and excited for Project X Zone, the latest mega collaboration among Capcom, Namco Bandai and SEGA.

Well, the epic crossover is already available in Japan since last year, and it will be released in US on June 25 and in Europe on July 5. So we still have few weeks to wait, but for now we can have just a taste of it. Indeed, yesterday Namco Bandai (the main publisher of the game) has released the demo for the game, called “A Lethal Surprise Demo” (or just Demo A).

Said so, if you’re curious on how those three companies have co-worked give it a try and download it for free from the Nintendo 3DS Store (but keep in mind that, like every demo for the 3DS, it has limited try).

By the way, thanks Namco Bandai for not bringing to Europe the limited edition…yep, thank you very much

Now enjoy some really chaotic screenshots.

First trailer for J-Stars Victory VS

8 Apr

J-Stars Victory VS

Crossovers are a trend nowadays, so after Project X Zone (fighting/action/RPG crossover among SEGA, Namco Bandai and Capcom) and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure All Stars Battle (fighting with all the characters from the eight JoJo’s series), now it’s time for J-Stars Victory VS.

The game, exclusive for PS3 and PS Vita and now only announced for a Japanese release, should be a fighting game featuring characters from four of the major Shonen Jump series. So it won’t be like Jump Ultimate Stars, but it will feature warriors only from One Piece, Naruto, DragonBall and Toriko.

The game is still in TBA release date and probably will never see the light outside Japan (mainly because of the west-unknown Toriko), but for now enjoy the trailer.

Here’s your über zombie apocalypse! Served by Capcom and Valve

15 Mar

resident evil 6 x left 4 dead 2

Zombie fan? Good, because Capcom and Valve teamed up for a free Resident Evil 6 x Left 4 Dead 2 Crossover.

But what is about? Here’s the press release:

Capcom and Valve are pleased to announce the Resident Evil® 6 x Left 4 Dead 2 project. This crossover project between two of the interactive entertainment industry’s most respected publishers will see characters from Left 4 Dead™ 2 featured exclusively in the forthcoming PC version of Resident Evil® 6, while enemies from Resident Evil 6 will invade the PC version of Left 4 Dead 2. All content will be made available completely free for fans of either game to access and play.

Owners of Resident Evil 6 PC will be able to select one of four survivors from Left 4 Dead 2’s iconic cast – Coach, Nick, Ellis and Rochelle – when playing PC exclusive mode, The Mercenaries No Mercy. Each character will have a special customized weapon load-out created just for use in Resident Evil 6. In addition to the four survivors, two of the infamous Special Infected zombies from the Left 4 Dead franchise – the Witch and Mini Tank – will also make a cameo appearance in this mode, relentlessly attacking players regardless of whether a character from Left 4 Dead 2 or Resident Evil 6 is chosen. This new and exclusive content will automatically be downloaded in the background to all owners of the PC version of Resident Evil 6 from April 5.

Making the leap to the PC version of Left 4 Dead 2 will be some of Resident Evil 6’s most fearsome enemies – Lepotitsa, Napad and Ogroman. All three characters were brought to life in Left 4 Dead 2 by Valve’s renowned developers using its Steam Workshop tools. Owners of the PC version of Left 4 Dead 2 will be able to face a new deadly challenge when Resident Evil 6 characters infect Valve’s classic zombie title this spring.

Commenting on the crossover project, Chet Faliszek from Valve stated: “We’re huge Resident Evil fans, so when the opportunity arose to work directly with Capcom to combine L4D2 and RE6, we jumped at it.”

Resident Evil 6 Producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi added: “The Resident Evil 6 team really enjoyed working on this crossover, and we’re confident that our fans will have a great time with it too! We hope you enjoy this unique content.”

And here’s the dev diary from Resident Evil 6 producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi.

We were hoping for something way more exciting, but still, this is kinda cool anyway. But what about all the console players? Both games are either on PC and consoles!

Project X Zone will be released in USA and Europe

project x zone europe usa

Great news folks! We all love crazy, weird and fast-paced Japanese games, but the problem is that usually they just don’t cross over the ocean, staying in Japan and leaving us in tears. Usually because Japanese companies think that some kind of nippon-oriented genres couldn’t be appreciate in Europe and North America (sometimes also for copyright issues about characters or brand not yet released outside Japan), leading to poor sells.

But this is not the case of Project X Zone! A crossover tactical role-playing game for the Nintendo 3DS co-developed by Banpresto and Monolith Soft, and published by Namco Bandai. The cool thing about the game is that it features more than 200 (!!) characters from Namco Bandai Games, Capcom, and SEGA. The game was released in Japan last October and everybody just thought “this is too fucking cool to be released outside Japan”. Plus the Nintendo 3DS is region-locked (why Nintendo? WHY?!), so no hope at all…until a couple of days ago, when Namco Bandai Games publish this press relese:

“NAMCO BANDAI Games’ new tactical RPG brings together the fiercest characters from three major Japanese publishers to create one frenetic gaming experience

NAMCO BANDAI Games today announced that Project X Zone (working title) will be coming to challenge gamers in North America, Europe, Latin America and Australasia in the summer of 2013, exclusively for Nintendo 3DS™.  This epic crossover title brings together the fiercest and most popular legacy characters from NAMCO BANDAI, SEGA, and Capcom’s most beloved franchises to create a Strategy-RPG experience that can only be described as the ultimate cross-over title.”

So, yes! We will be able to play this awesome game in some kind of understandable language, but not until summer 2013. So, for now, just enjoy this 16-minutes video about the game that (possibly) is the best crossover ever made (yup, we didn’t forget Jump Ultimate Stars!)

We should also probably thank Katsuhiro Harada for the little help trying to convince Namco Bandai to localizate the game outside Japan!
