Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle

FUCK YEAH! Just fuck yeah! We all were so excited and so sad at the same time for the Japanese exclusivity of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle when it came out almost a month ago, but now we can be happy again!

Indeed, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle is headed to North America and Europe sometime in 2014, Namco Bandai announced at its pre-TGS showcase earlier today.

Also CyberConnect2 president and CEO Hiroshi Matsuyama said that the localized version of the game will be on par with the Japanese version’s character balance:

“We are still making character adjustments – even in the Japanese version – based on the feedback that we’re getting from fans. All of that feedback will be implemented in the overseas [version].”

Poor sales for Yakuza 1 & 2 HD Wii U in Japan

15 Aug

yakuza 1 & 2 HD wii U

We got bad news guys, especially for you Wii U owners and/or Yakuza fans. In fact last week SEGA released its Yakuza 1 & 2 HD remake on the Wii U in Japan, and that’s good, but guess what…sells aren’t going as expected.

Maybe it’s more appropriate say that the first instalation of the Yakuza saga outside a Sony console is facing proper poor sales; the game didn’t even make in the top 50 chart of the week, selling barely 1800 copies. Yes, just 1800 copies, in Japan.

You already know where we are going to say, right? We can now only assume the worst for the series’ future in the West, starting with no hope for an outside-Japan release of this remake and moreover, not many chances to see Yakuza 5 localized. Why? Well, if the series doesn’t sell in Japan, how can it sell in USA and Europe?

Taiwan will get a super limited Doraemon 3DS

14 Aug

taiwan nintendo 3ds doraemon limited editionWe’re used to incredible super cool (and rare) limited edition consoles come from Japan, but sometimes things are different. This is the case of the above Limited Edition Doraemon Nintendo 3DS that is going to be “released” in Taiwan only.

Actually, is not even going to be released. In fact, Nintendo is localising the game Doraemon: Nobita’s Number Adventure in Taiwan, and to mark the game release, is also holding some sort of contest, in which the prizes are five of these wonderful handhelds.

So yes, this is going to be quite a rare console…prepare your wallets collectors.

wonderful 101 direct demo

We already told you how The Wonderful 101 looked good when we tried it. Now the release date is approaching and the hype for the last Platinum Games’ title is increasing. Yesterday Hideki Kamiya hosted a very special Nintendo Direct, called -surprire surprise- The Wonderful 101 Direct, presenting and explaining all the features of the game. Here’d the direct in full lenght.

If you don’t have 20+ minutes to spend on this, here’s a shorter video, featuring just the full lenght trailer for the game.

Ah, almost forgot, a shiny brand new demo for The Wonderful 101 is available worldwide to download from the Wii U eShop! Have a nice play!

Senran Kagura: Burst coming to Europe

9 Aug

Senran Kagura: Burst 3ds europe usa

More good news for all us European 3DS owners! In fact another great Japanese-only game has been announced for an European release! We’re talking about Senran Kagura: Burst, classic beat’em up from Marvelous AQL, Japanese software house, well known for Harvest Moon and Rune Factory.

The game has been announced for an American release earlier this week, but for us European the news is even better, as our American mates will only get a digital copy, downloadable through the Nintendo 3DS eShop. Unlike them, Zen United (the publisher in western countries) said that we’re gonna get the retail version of the game!

If you don’t know the game, Senran Kagura: Burst is a scroll beat’em up set in a Japanese high school, and follows a number of female students who are secretly being trained in Ninjutsu. As you can tell from the picture above and the trailer below, the main ingredient of the game is: BOOBS.

The release date is set for Q1 2014.

Wonderful 101 looks fantastic!

27 Jul

wonderful 101

Today we’ve been to London’s Hyper Japan Summer 2013 (even if with all the rain we took it didn’t look like summer, but hey…finally some chilly temperatures!) and finally we managed to get our greedy hands on one of our most hyped Wii U games of this year, also because, along with Pikmin 3, it is the only remarkable release set for 2013 on the Nintendo’s home console.

We are abviously talking about Wonderful 101, the next big game from Platinum Games, exclusive for Wii U, directed by Hideki “bad boy” Kamiya and produced by Atsushi Inaba.

Unfortunately, like all third-party-Nintendo-console-exclusive, the game isn’t getting the right attention from the media (or from Nintendo, you decide), and that’s a real shame, because we all know how good Platinum games are (ehm…Bayonetta…ehm…Metal Gear Rising), and this is no exception.

We played the only level available at the event, but immediately it seamed pure gold. From the graphics to the gameplay, from the character design to the use of Wii U gamepad touchscreen, everything felt super right. Sure, we didn’t play enough to write a proper preview, that’s why we’re talking about feeling…but hey…we play since we’re born and sometimes we still get it right.

Want a hint? Buy it! Also because it will probably the only good thing to play on Wii U till 2014.
