hello games office flooded

Unfortunately we have to report that this past Christmas wasn’t joyful for everyone. In fact Hello Games, developer of No Man’s Sky, new indie exploration game announced just a month ago, said that their office has been completely flooded on Christmas Eve, due to the infamous UK Storm that stroke most of the Britain territories on December 24.

People at Guildford based Hello Games said that everything in the office is pretty much lost, but thankfully there weren’t any human loss or injuries. The flood was probably caused by the River Wey coming out of its bed, during the violent storm of Chistmas Eve.

Here’s some tweets from Hello Games staff, updating on the studio situation.

We’re very sorry to hear this, and we can’t help but hoping they can go back to their wonderful work as soon as possible!

***UPDATE***

Unfortunately Hello Games guys have reported that their insurer won’t cover flood damage.

Only good news is that they’ve confirmed that all the work done so far on No Man’s Sky was backed up remotely. So, as soon as they manage to get the studio going again, they can start to work on their project straight away.
