We’re kinda fond of anime and manga, and sure a new Initial D game is something that doesn’t slip off our radar. With our great pleasure (and curiosity) SEGA has announced a brand new game based on Initial D series for the Nintendo 3DS, called Initial D Perfect Shift Online.

Thing is it’s a free-to-play! Ans this makes of it the very first F2P game on the 3DS platform.

Unfortunately, we don’t know much more, but from the few screens and from the tile, it looks like a racing game where you don’t have to drive, but just shifting gears at the right time (that’s gonna be quite disappointing). Anyway, we’re gonna get back to you as soon as we get more information regarding the gameplay and such. Also, want an opinion? It’s not gonna be released outside Japan…but maybe we’re wrong.

For now, you can apply for the beta testing program (here), even if we’re quite sure SEGA is not gonna pick you if you don’t live in Japan.
