D4 swery 65

We’ve already mentioned this game in our huge E3 special article, but we felt like we needed to highlight it more than a mere mention. D4 is the brand new game from Hidetaka Suehiro a.k.a. Swery 65, presented exclusively for Xbox One (also in collaboration with Microsoft Studios) at the Microsoft E3 conference a couple of days ago. Here’s the first announcement trailer.

As you can recall, Swery 65 is the acclaimed creator behind the cult classic Deadly Premonition, and with this new game he really has our attention. The game has been presented as an episodic noir mystery, following the story of a detective with the curious ability to dive back in time, that must use this power to solve his wife’s murder, and then try to prevent it.

As you can see from the above trailer, the game features a full cell shading graphic engine, but we still really see what the game is about.

On a side note, it’s public knowledge that Hidetaka Suehiro has always idolized Goichi Suda (yep, Suda 51 —> Swery 65), but this is the first time the style of a Swery’s game recall a Suda’s creation so clearly. We’ll see if he will meet all our positive expectations.

Also, we don’t think this game has anything in common with the well-known survival horror series D created by Kenji Eno (we miss you so much).
